Hey, this is Roshanda!
I want to help you create your artistic escape

After many years of struggling to find peace in my artistic journey, I finally feel like I figured it out. And my goal is to help others do the same. It’s what I call…

Artistic Escape = the feeling of complete and total calmness, while enjoying your creative time

You see, because if you’re anything like me, you bully yourself and beat yourself up over not being “good enough”. Which makes it really difficult to be creative.

And maybe you even feel some guilt over the time (and/or money) you spend on your artwork or creative outlet.

I struggled with the guilt as well. As a matter of fact, I completely stopped spending time on my art three different times in my life because of this guilt. And when I did indulge in it, I was always trying to justify the time spent.

I even went as far as getting my Master’s degree in art education and getting a job as a classroom art teacher to justify the time. But guess what? That didn’t work either.

When I finally realized the struggle was an internal one, I was able to start making changes and move forward.

I’m happy to say I’ve overcome the battle with my creative time and have learned to fully enjoy it, no matter what the outcome is. I have learned to enjoy the creative process itself.

And I’d like to help you do the same!

So I hope you’ll join me on this journey. I’ll be with you every step of the way (consider me your artistic chaperone).

I started artbyro.com as a way to hold myself accountable to the commitment I made to myself to create art daily. But it quickly turned into a way to reach others who may be struggling.

What you will find here is a variety of easy to follow art tutorials and lessons. Tips, tricks, words of advice, and encouragement. Along with anything else I feel someone could possibly benefit from.

If I can help one person with my blog, it will be worth all of the effort.

Creating art is a journey. Where will your journey lead you?
